Young People's Dance Festival
The culmination of weeks of dance workshops arrived on Saturday 16th February 2008 in the Memorial Hall at Marlborough College.
Over 200 children and young people got the chance to celebrate their achievement by performing for their friends and family. They were involved in the whole process from designing the banner, making the costumes , choosing the music and selecting the moves. They also designed the programme, show logo and hosted the evening.
The packed auditorium was delighted to watch so many children getting so much out of the experience of learning to dance and working as a team, and many expressed a desire to carry on dancing.
The festival, which was a result of a bid for money from the Local Network Fund, was a collaboration between Marlborough Area Extended Schools Network, Marlborough College and the Marlborough Area Development Trust.
