Marlborough Open Space
Who is involved?
MADT is working with Marlborough Town Council to investigate possibilities of creating a dedicated open space on the town outskirts to help to preserve the unique nature of our local area.
Originally a Community Orchard was envisaged but the potential sites were not suitable for fruit trees and so having taken advice from the charity Common Ground alternative schemes are now under consideration.
We shall be looking for other partners as the project progresses, local groups and organisations who would like to get involved should comtact the MADT office in the first instance.
What will be in it?
The aim for Marlborough is to create a fully accessible area with trees planted among grass and wild flowers. The area will provide habitats that encourage wild-life and insects and maintain local biodiversity.
As yet the canvas is blank, much depends on the eventual location as to what will be most suitable. Various possibilities exist but if you have an idea that you would like to put forward then please share it with us by contacting the MADT office on 01672 515715 or by e-mail to madt@btconnect.com
